Saying Hello to a Fresh Face

Published 09 Jan 2026

We’d like to welcome our newest addition to the Thorne and Derrick team! Eva will be joining us as a content creator apprentice at our office in Chester-Le-Street. Eva will bring fresh new ideas to all of our social media pages. We are excited to see how Eva develops and learns new skills at T&D as well as influencing and interacting with the current marketing team.

About me

Hi, my name is Eva I’m 19 and I’m from Low Fell. I thought I’d start by sharing a bit about who I am, both personally and creatively.

One fun (and slightly unfortunate) fact about me is that my birthday is just two days after Christmas — which I would argue is one of the worst dates to have a birthday on. I’ve been a vegetarian since I was 12.

In my spare time, I really enjoy fashion and interior design. I find it really interesting how different people express themselves. I’m also extremely detail-oriented — probably the most OCD-riddled person you’ll ever meet — which means I naturally gravitate towards organisation, precision, and getting things just right.

Music plays a big part in my life. I listen to a lot of American rap and house music, so apologies in advance if you hear my car blasting in the car park. On weekends, I often go to raves with my friends. I love going on holidays abroad with my friends but I also spend a lot of time in the lake district going on hikes. I like variety and staying active, and I take great pride in somehow managing to look tanned all year round. Family is really important to me, and I love spending time with them whenever I can.

I’m a very creative and motivated person, with a lot of energy and a strong drive for perfection. I always give projects and tasks my best effort and I’m not afraid to put myself forward — I’ll happily jump at any opportunities I’m given and enjoy pushing myself to learn and improve. I’m looking forward to growing, contributing, and bringing my creativity and work ethic into everything I do here.

My experience in the industry

While I don’t have much experience in marketing, I did do work experience in social media and marketing for a company in Newcastle. This is where I realised that marketing is something I would like to pursue going into my adult life as I love how there is a lot of free reign on creativity and I take great pride seeing my visions come to life.

Prior to working here, I worked in retail at the Metrocentre, where I did a lot of visual merchandising displays, floor plans and window arrangements. This is where I met most of my best friends, and although I loved the friendships, I had made with people, I was ready to start progressing with my career in a field I was passionate about.

My first week at Thorne and Derrick

I have loved my first week at Thorne and Derrick. All the people are really nice and willing to go out of their way to give me help and advice with anything I need. I’ve been encouraged to share my ideas and opinions and I can see that they are valued. I have been reminded that everyone is always learning and that I am allowed to get things wrong as everyone makes mistakes. I have learnt so much already and can’t wait to learn even more to help me in my role as content creator.
