The Confined Space Safety Heavy Duty Barrier manufactured by CableSafe is an entry barrier that can limit access and warn personnel to not access the manhole to prevent unnecessary fatalities and accidents. What makes the Manhole barrier unique is that it is strong enough for heavy use and easy to implement in applications as it is secured in place with nuts and bolts but can also come with magnets for extra security.

Why use Manhole barriers? 

Manhole barriers / barricades and other types of entrance barriers are very common to use in that when there are confined spaces presented in the workplace environments. A manhole barrier can come in many different shapes and forms to be used in a restricted access work area.

BARRIER Features

• The Manhole Heavy Duty Barrier has a diameter of 990 mm (appr. 40 inch) and a 4 mm thickness.
• Constructed from aluminium and is solid when in use
• Nuts and bolts and/or magnets allow the system to be secured to the manhole entry opening
• The Confined Space barrier is equipped with magnets (95 Newton; 9.5KG force) to keep the Heavy duty barrier in place
• Lock-out-tag-out systems are optionally provided for securing and locking of the heavy duty barrier
• Barrier Weight is around 1.5 kg / 3.3 lbs

The heavy duty quick adaptable confined space barrier is also available with a Lock-Out-Tag-Out system. This system is installed through heavy duty barrier and secures the confined space barrier to the manhole opening with a 3,6 metre steel wire.

A solid lock ensures that the barrier is kept in place and is not tampered with while the manhole opening is temporary open. No-one is allowed to enter and that is visible from the barrier and very clearly presented. The system will prevent deadly accidents by accidental entry during maintenance and installation works.

Our standard colour for this heavy duty manhole barrier is silver, but the barrier is also available in other colours. See the example below in red.
