The Transformer Bund Filter range manufactured by Green Rhino and distributed by Thorne & Derrick provides passive, self-regulating environmental protection for LV, MV & HV oil-filled transformers (11kV, 33kV, 66kV).
The filters for transformer bunds are designed to prevent bunds from overflowing during rainfall events, the DrainEezy Bund Filter System allows clean water to drain freely while automatically blocking and retaining oil in the event of a leak or catastrophic transformer failure.
The filters are suitable for onshore wind farms, solar farms, battery energy storage sites, industrial substations and utility networks.
Draineezy offers a significantly lower-cost and low-maintenance alternative to traditional oil/water separators and vacuum tanker removal.
How the Transformer Bund Filter Works
The DrainEezy bund filter system uses a proprietary filtration media that allows clean rainwater to pass through while capturing hydrocarbons. When filter is inundated with oil, the automatic shut-off valve seals instantly to prevent any discharge from the transformer bund.
