Feed-In Cable Joints MV | 11kV 33kV Cables

Lovink LoviSil® Feed-In Cable Joint | MV 6/10 (12) kV – 18/30 (36) kV

Product Code: LoviSil® Feed-In Cable Joint (Module Selection Required)

Lovink LoviSil® Feed-In Cable Joint is purpose-designed for medium voltage (MV) network integration, enabling the direct connection of renewable or distributed power sources into existing underground cable systems without the need for additional switchgear or substations. Suitable for systems rated from 6/10 (12) kV up to 18/30 (36) kV, LoviSil® feed-in joints are widely specified for networks commonly referred to as 11kV and 33kV class.
Designed to accommodate connections between incoming generation cables and established MV distribution circuits, the joint supports polymeric (XLPE/EPR) and paper-insulated (PILC/PICAS) cable types, including single-core and selected multi-core configurations. Conductor sizes up to 1,000 mm² can be supported depending on the joint module and application requirements.
MV Feed-In Joints for Polymeric & Paper Cables (XLPE PILC)
The Lovink LoviSil® Feed-In Cable Joint is a specialist medium voltage (MV) jointing solution designed to connect embedded generation and renewable energy sources directly into existing underground distribution networks. Unlike conventional jointing arrangements that require additional switchgear or substation infrastructure, the feed-in joint enables a compact, underground connection point within the cable system itself.
LoviSil® Fluid Silicone Technology
At the core of the design is LoviSil® liquid silicone insulation, which remains fluid within the joint body to fully encapsulate conductors, connectors and stress control components. This void-free insulation method minimises the risk of partial discharge and supports long-term dielectric reliability in demanding underground environments. Combined with a durable outer shell and resin-based mechanical protection, the joint delivers dependable performance in moisture-prone or contaminated soil conditions. Installation is flame-free, requires only standard tooling, and avoids heat shrink or soldered components.
6/10 (12) kV – 18/30 (36) kV Networks
Suitable for 6/10 (12) kV through to 18/30 (36) kV systems, LoviSil® Feed-In Joints are commonly specified for networks referred to as 11kV and 33kV class. The joint accommodates a wide range of polymeric (XLPE/EPR) and paper-insulated (PILC/PICAS) cable types, including large conductor cross-sections up to 1,000 mm² (subject to configuration). This makes the system particularly well suited to wind farms, solar parks, industrial generation facilities and other distributed power schemes requiring reliable grid integration.

Feed-In Cable Joint – Additional Information
The MV feed-in cable joint system is designed to provide a secure electrical and mechanical interface for underground distribution feeders entering network nodes. The joint construction uses engineered insulation materials combined with sealed structural housing to maintain stable performance under variable load conditions. This solution is particularly suited for distribution circuits where reliability and environmental durability are essential, especially in outdoor or buried network segments.
For medium voltage installations, the feed-in joint design supports controlled electric field management through integrated stress regulation elements and precision-moulded insulation layers. When deployed in modern distribution assets, the system helps maintain stable impedance characteristics and reduces the risk of localised electrical ageing in connected cable sections, following engineering practices.
