Split connectors, from the SICON range manufactured by Pfisterer, can be used in LV MV HV cable installations where it is difficult to install the connector on the conductor.
The connector comes apart in 2 pieces and allows easy installation by the cable jointer or installer. The 2 pieces of the connectors are then bolted together in the middle to form one connector again. Typical applications for split connectors are for use with PILC to PILC 3 core cable joints and any tight spot where it is difficult to bend the cable.
