11kV 33kV High Voltage Cable & Equipment Discharge Rod

The Seaward SDR Series of HV Discharge Rods are used for the safe damp discharge of Medium & High Voltage (MV HV) cables or equipment under test at 11kV, 33kV and up to 35kV.

This electrical safety equipment will allow you to conduct the safe damp discharge of the residual charge on the MV HV cable or electrical equipment by limiting the discharge current.

There are two models of discharge rods for high voltage power systems: Seaward SDR11 (up to 11kV) and Seaward SDR35 (up to 33kV) both of which feature high-grade glass fibre tubing and incorporate encapsulated resistor chains.

Both models of discharge rods are supplied as standard with earthing wire (10 sq.mmx 5mtr), yellow green wire and carry case.

Operating Poles

An extensive range of Operating Poles manufactured from lightweight resin-impregnated fibreglass provide highest levels of electrical safety and insulation across standard voltages: 11kV, 33kV 66kV. The operating poles can be inter-connected to achieve extended lengths for both Medium Voltage & High Voltage (MV-HV) overhead line and substation applications. The poles are compliant to ENA Technical Specification TS 41-21 which combines substation and overhead line portable earthing requirements (previously covered by ENA TS 43-81).
