CBS ArcSafe

CBS ArcSafe remote racking systems enable service personnel to stay outside the arc flash protection boundary while racking low, medium and high voltage draw-out circuit breakers, reducing the need for a full-body arc flash suit. These systems promote compliance with NFPA 70E by offering a safer way to operate circuit breakers, effectively safeguarding personnel from arc flash risks; typically power system voltages include 3.3kV, 6.6kV, 11kV, 25kV and 33kV medium and high voltage switchgear equipment.

CBS ArcSafe provide bespoke electrical safety equipment to prevent arc flash injuries to personnel improving operator electrical safety where Authorised Personnel (AP’s) and Senior Authorised Personnel (SAP’s) and undertaking maintenance tasks to ensure construction and maintenance on high voltage electrical systems, typically at 33kV.

CBS ArcSafe’s universal remote circuit breaker racking devices are compatible with a broad range of low, medium and high (LV MV HV) voltage circuit breakers from various manufacturers.

The distinctive design of each rotary remote racking system, featuring specially engineered drive shafts and couplings, allows it to support numerous MV HV Circuit Breaker types that utilize a jack screw rotary mechanism for insertion and extraction.

These remote racking devices are suitable for use with draw out type air, gas insulated SF6, and vacuum circuit breakers, regardless of whether they have a horizontal or vertical racking mechanism.

Remote racking in medium voltage 33kV power systems allows operators to rack (Connect or Disconnect) circuit breakers from a safe distance, minimizing the risk of arc flash injuries – this is achieved using specialized remote racking devices (RRDs) or systems.
