The 11kV terminations include Tyco TE (Raychem) SMOE62803 universal boots for insulating the medium voltage switchgear connection bushing and Sicame mechanical shearbolt cable lugs.

Alroc AMF5 55-160 tool can be used on HV-EHV transmission and distribution cables with an outside diameter range of 55-160mm and is designed to make the removal of cable insulation simple and efficient with significantly reduced sanding required by the cable jointer using a lower grit abrasive.
Research has proven 120 grit to be optimum: fine enough for the medium/high voltage interface and yet coarse enough to remove semi-con residue without “loading up” the abrasive cloth. The abrasive must have a non-conducting grt. Do not use emery cloth or any other abrasive that contains conductive particles since these could embed themselves into the cable insulation. When using an insulation diameter dependent product eg moulded rubber cable accessories, care must be taken by the cable jointer to abrade the insulation of the medium/high voltage power cable below the minimum specification for the product.

g2 Energy exhibited at, and sponsored, the UK Construction Week Energy 2016 show, which took place at the Birmingham NEC between Tuesday 18th Oct to Thursday 20th Oct.
g2 Energy took one of their 33kV client side switchgear containers. This is housed in a modified 20′ steel ISO shipping container and is therefore easily shipped around the world. The units are fully fitted out and pre-commissioned prior to leaving their warehouse, all ready for immediate connection to the grid.
These bespoke Container Substations can be designed to the project and client specific requirements and with innovative screw piled foundations, which reduces site activity to an absolute minimum.
g2 Energy also have access to a number of 33kV & 11kV DNO metering circuit breakers, available for installation prior to the March 2017 ROC & FiT deadlines, however time is running out rapidly, so developers will need to move swiftly to secure this switch-gear to meet the fast approaching deadline.
