Ellis Patents were involved in the Network Rail project to electrify the Severn Tunnel. The requirement was for a solution to carry the insulated ATF cable. An added complication for Ellis Patents was the aggressive conditions within the tunnel and the requirement for a 40 year product design life.

Ellis worked with Network Rail to develop a solution based around the proven 2F+ two hole cable clamp alongside a bespoke bracket manufactured from Super Duplex stainless steel.
