Cable box porcelain bushings are a high quality range of porcelain insulated bushings for use inside protective cable boxes.

They are fitted with high grade cork composite gaskets designed to seal against all transformer insulating fluids.

Compliance Standards – BS EN ISO 60137 –Insulated bushings for alternating voltages above 1000 V | BS 2562
Insulators – Ceramic insulators which are porcelain brown-glazed.
Termination – Most cable box bushings can be supplied with screwed, plain or palm terminations – with a choice of number of cable take-offs.
Metalwork – All bushings utilise HDHC tin-plated stem conductors. Palm terminal are manufactured from tin-plated high copper content brass. Fixings and fasteners are anti-corrosion plated.
Fixings – Bushings are supplied with clamps and gaskets designed to engage with transformer facing weld studs.

Available Designs

Oil /Oil or Oil /Heat Shrink – for use on liquid filled transformers – The cable box side of the bushing can be enclosed in a filled cable box i.e. oil or compound or insulated with heat shrink insulation – if preferred.
Oil/Air – for use on liquid filled transformers – The cable box side of the bushing is designed to have extra creepage negating the need for further insulation. The user should select a corresponding air filled cable box from our range.
Air/Air – for use on dry-type resin transformers – Can also be used for special applications requiring no additional insulation at either end of the bushing.

Webster-Wilkinson offer a complete range of bushings which utilise porcelain insulation designed for use in power transformers, distribution transformers and pole mounted transformers operating at LV MV HV electrical voltages.

Porcelain insulation is a proven technology which provides low cost, long life and maintenance-free solutions which can withstand all environmental conditions.

For a given operating voltage porcelain insulators can be provided with varying creepage distances depending on environmental conditions.

Porcelain bushings are normally supplied with brown glaze however if required, they can be given a grey glaze. All bushings meet the requirements of BS EN ISO 60137 Standards.
