Nexans 52GTS1 is a heat-shrinkable cable joint forming part of the Euromold 52kV Cable Accessories. Specified to repair cables and joint medium/high voltage cables in the following voltage class:
- 26/45 (52) kV
The 52GTS1 heat shrink straight joint is designed for HV unarmoured single-core polymeric cables with copper wire/tape screens, providing reliable performance up to 26/45 (52)kV.
The 52GTS1 NGS semi-conductive tape is used to fill gaps and cover the cable joint connector. The screen cuts on both sides are sealed with stress grading mastic plates, as well as the connector area. The cable joint body features stress control heat shrink tubing, an insulating heavy wall tubing, and a final layer of heavy dual-wall screened insulating tube. The outer cable sheath is reinstated using GT4 adhesive-lined heavy wall tubing.
