Lucy Zodion have developed EV charging pillars while considering the charge speeds that each EV charge point is capable of, either Fast, Rapid or Super.

‘Super’ or ultra-rapid EV charge points can provide up to 150kW of power. Ultra-rapid EV charging supply solutions from Lucy Zodion feed power to EV charge points at a maximum rated speed.

This allows electric vehicles, which have the battery capacity, to have up to 80% of charge in approximately 30 minutes.

The Lucy Zodion EVIS Pillar Range is designed to meet a wide range of application requirements from 100A – 630A for both Private Supply and New DNO Supplies, in both TT and PME earthing installations.

The EVIS range of feeder pillars is available in several configurations designed to meet all onsite layouts, including those with a mix of EV Chargepoints. Outgoing devices include both single-phase and three-phase enabling EV Chargers to be powered.

EV Charging & Connection at 600/100V and 11kV/33kV Substations

Where large-scale, multi-point EV Charging schemes are installed to support electric vehicle fleets it is often required to build and connect an 11kV or 33kV substation – depending upon the MVA (Megavolt-Amperes) required load and the charger layouts with kW capacity a dedicated 33kV HV Substation would need to be built and energised. The size of the required capacity determines whether an 11kV Connection is appropriate and a feed to the 33kV primary substation. LV cabling will then be pulled and laid underground to energise the EV Chargers according to the client specification.
