3M 95-EP631-2 uses innovative Cold Shrink Technology combined with Network Rail (NR) and PADS Approval to meet the requirements for the installation on medium voltage electrical infrastructure – forming part of rail cable joints & terminations range by 3M Electrical.

3M 95-EP631-2 is typically used to terminate and connect 25kV/44kV XLPE Insulated Cables to NRPS/ELP/00008 for the distribution of 3 phase a.c. electrical power to 25kV autotransformer systems on AC electrified lines.

QTIII type cable terminations are suitable for terminating and connecting MV HV cables. 3M 95-EP631-2 is a MV cold shrink termination suitable for connecting single core polymeric (XLPE EPR) insulated cables up to 52kV with a copper wire screen in accordance to IEC60840.

95-EP631-2 kit includes the cold shrink QTIII Silicone Termination Body with integrated stress control device, silicone elastomeric insulation and built in moisture sealing mastic layer. Installation of Medium Voltage Termination 3M 95-EP631-2

3M Cold Shrink technology ensures quick, easy and safe installation of the QTIII Termination Body by pulling and unwinding the plastic support core in counter clockwise direction. Specialist tools are not required. Included with each kit are installation instructions for the 3M QTIII Series Terminations.

Cable Termination Storage

The shelf life of 3MTM QTIII Series Terminations is specified as 3 years. Temperature: – 40°C to +50°C.

3M 95-EP620-1R | QTEN Cold Shrink Cable Termination

The 3M 95-EP620-1R Cold Shrink cable termination, with PADS Approval for used on high voltage power networks at Network Rail, is suitable for the connection of 52kV single core polymeric insulated cables with copper wire screens – more information here.

In order to ensure compatibility of the cable termination with intended cable for installation the critical dimension is the diameter over the primary insulation of the XLPE, not the cross-section area of the conductor – the 95-EP620-1R cable termination will accommodate single core high voltage power cables with a diameter over primary insulation diameter in the range of 33.0mm to 60.0mm.
