Porcelain din Bushings

The DIN range of porcelain bushings, manufactured by Webster-Wilkinson, was originally designed in Germany, and quickly became popular across, not only Europe, but also the Far East and Middle East Regions of the world.

The DIN design is typified by its doughnut shaped oil seal which is compressed around a terminal ‘bolt’.

The porcelain is shaped internally to hold the bolt in place and prevent it from rotating.

Compliance Standards – DIN 42530, DIN 42531, DIN 42532, DIN 42533, DIN 42534, DIN 42539, DIN 42541 & BS EN ISO 60137
Available Designs – T&D can offer all designs contained in the relevant DIN Standards. Additionally, we are able to offer, in some instances, high creepage versions. Arcing horns can be provided for bushings of 12kV and above.
Insulators – Ceramic insulators are porcelain brown-glazed – Contact T&D for lead times & prices
Termination – Standard air-side terminations are normally screwed, round conductors. Flag or palm terminals can be supplied on request Oil-side termination is either via draw lead or screwed, round conductor or flat threaded lugs.
Metalwork – All bushings normally have unplated (self-colour) conductors and terminals. Conductors can be tin-plated by special order.
Fixings – Up to 12kV, bushings are normally supplied in kit form and are of two-piece porcelain design. 12kV bushings and above are fixed via a formed light gauge clamp and fixing pieces which locate on the transformer facing – studded by others. Fixings and fasters are available in a range of materials and finishes.

Webster-Wilkinson offer a complete range of bushings which utilise porcelain insulation designed for use in power transformers, distribution transformers and pole mounted transformers operating at LV MV HV electrical voltages.

Porcelain insulation is a proven technology which provides low cost, long life and maintenance-free solutions which can withstand all environmental conditions.

For a given operating voltage porcelain insulators can be provided with varying creepage distances depending on environmental conditions.

Porcelain bushings are normally supplied with brown glaze however if required, they can be given a grey glaze. All bushings meet the requirements of BS EN ISO 60137 Standards.
