Cable Terminations

Euromold AIN are single core cold shrink slip-on cable terminations for use indoor and specified to terminate and connect medium/high voltage cables in the following voltage classes – Slip-on terminations are cold applied terminations require no “hot-working” for safe use in potentially explosive atmospheres and hazardous area locations.

Euromold AIN have a kit of 3 terminations for use indoors in controlled environmental conditions and subject to light condensation. Suitable for connecting polymeric insulated (XLPE EPR) cable to MV-HV electrical equipment providing a quick and simple method of stress relieving on screened polymeric cables.

    1. Cable lug (not included in the standard kit) – crimp lugs or shearbolt lugs are suitable
    2. High flexibility silicone rubber housing, allowing larger tolerances on cable insulation diameters, with integrated conductive rubber insert, providing stress relief
    3. Earthing lug (not included in the standard kit)

Offshore Substation Terminations

This Video demonstrates the advanced material performance of silicone used in the manufacture of the Nexans AFN range of Cable Terminations up to 33kV – the cable terminations survived a serious blast fire in an onshore primary substation location. Despite the clear damage and fire aftermath, the Nexans AIN cable terminations remain intact and still functioning and are increasingly specified by design engineers for the termination of medium voltage cables in offshore unmanned installations.

Euromold AFN36-6 42kV Single core cable termination for indoor 25kV air insulated switchgear. The Euromold AFN36-6 42kV single pole termination is approved for use on indoor cable terminations for Siemens ASG25, 25kV air insulated switchgear. Euromold AFN36-4-H 42kV terminations are no longer available and are superseded by the AFN36-6 type
