Hazardous Area Cable Glands from Hawke

Hawke CSB 656N cable glands are suitable for use with conduit incorporating individual insulated conductors for both indoor and outdoor use.

For particular use with: –
a) Cable inner sheaths that are not effectively filled, compact and/or circular, have tape bedding or have hygroscopic fillers.
b) Cables that exhibit ‘cold flow’ characteristics.
c) Enclosures containing an ignition source in gas group IIC areas or containing an ignition source in a Zone 1 area.

Hawke CSB 656N cable glands are dual certified Exd and Exe and suitable for installation in Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21, Zone 22 and in Gas Groups IIA, IIB and IIC.

When used in increased safety applications the Hawke cable gland can be used to terminate braided cables where the braid and the cable outer sheath enter into the electrical enclosure or junction box.

CABLE GLAND MATERIAL & FINISH

Hawke CSB 656N cable glands are manufactured in Brass (standard), Nickel Plated Brass, 316 Stainless Steel or Aluminium. Brass NPT entries are nickel plated as standard.

CABLE PREPARATION

Pull sufficient length ‘I’ of conductors through the conduit to suit equipment.

CABLE GLAND PREPARATION

Pass sub-assembly parts (1) and (2) over the conductors and start to thread onto conduit, then using a spanner/wrench tighten the sub-assembly of parts (1) and (2) firmly onto the conduit.

Spread the conductors out for the compound packing. Pack the compound between the conductors as shown.
