Jointers Tool Kits for Live Working, Linking and Jointing LV Cables

Insulated tools have been designed to protect the user against injury in the event that they should make contact with an energised source. Each insulated tool must be safety-marked with the year of insulation as well as an official 1000-volt rating symbol, which ensures protection for live use up to 1,000 VAC or 1,500 VDC. They also must comply with the international standard IEC EN 60900.

They are identified by the mark: 1000V or double triangle IEC EN 60900 with the name of the manufacturer, tool reference and the year of manufacture.

There are strict international standards that apply to insulated tools and can be identified by the double triangle symbol that is engraved onto every tool.

Insulated tools are very important when conducting any electrical work which needs to be completed on a live circuit (or “hot”). They offer remarkable protection in situations where it may not always be possible to disconnect the circuit first, for example when working on a railway line which needs to remain active.

These tools are also very useful for unexpected situations when you may not be aware that you are working on a live circuit. Without tools which are insulated, you could be risking serious injury, liability or even death.
