This five-day course is aimed at existing mates or electricians which have undertaken or are in the process of undertaking, a suitable electrical qualification such as C&G 2322.

By the end of this LV1 – LV Live Jointing Course, Single and Three Phase Services course delegates will be able to:

• Understand and demonstrate personal safety including the basics of on-site safety requirements, hand tools, cable jointing resins and personal hygiene

• Understand the basic principles and the use of test instruments including earth loop, Megger and test lamps and evaluate results

• Demonstrate test procedures for resistance, continuity, earth loop and polarity

• Understand visual cable identification (cable depths, markers, cable tiles)

• Demonstrate live working procedures and when they are required

• Understand when they can work on damaged/faulty apparatus

• Demonstrate they can strip LV HV cables

• Fit cable joint boxes

• Mix and pour the cable jointing resin

• Demonstrate they can complete a single-phase cut out including jointing instructions and procedures
