Semi-Con Shield Removal Tool Adapter SleevesWS 40 Bushing Adapter Sleeves

Select a RIPLEY WS 40 bushing adapter sleeve having the size nearest the OD of your cable semi-con. Then select sleeve one size larger and a sleeve one size smaller. Typically, selecting three sleeves following these directions will handle any cable vibration. Available in 100+ different sizing variants to maximise compatibility for any job required.

HOW TO USE Semi-Con Shield Removal Tool

RIPLEY WS 40 Instructions

  1. Select the adapter sleeve which has the nearest diameter of the Semi-Con Shield Removal Tool, that is to be stripped.
  2. The selected sleeve should fit over the cable, but does not bind.
  3. Mount the selected sleeve onto the master shaving bushing.
  4. Place the bushing over the end of the cable, so that the shaving blade can be adjusted to the correct depth.
  5. Lubricate the semi-con surface with silicone lubricant to minimise friction between the adapter sleeve and semi-con material.
  6. Place the bushing assembly into the RIPLEY WS 40.
  7. Once the correct blade depth has been set, slide the RIPLEY WS 40 onto the cable until the end of the cable is up against the shaving blade.
  8. Squeeze the trigger of the drill and apply slight forward pressure to the tool to begin the stripping operation.
  9. Continue the forward pressure until the desired strip off length is reached.
  10. To complete the operation, let the machine rotate two to three revolutions against a QC1 quick clamp or TC1 transmission cable clamp.
  11. The Semi-Con Shield Removal Tool must stop completely before removing from the cable.
