Telecoms Cable Winch For Fibre Optic Cables & Sub Duct Pulling (1 Tonne) – SEB AW1000

Telecoms Cable Winch For Fibre Optic Cables & Sub Duct Pulling (1 Tonne) – SEB AW1000
Cable Pulling Winch
Fibre Optic & Lightweight Cable Pulling
SEB AW1000 is a 1 tonne telecoms cable winch that is designed as a versatile multi purpose winch, which can be used for the installation of fibre optic cable, sub duct and also for pulling the bond back through the duct or trench.
The AW1000 cable pulling winch is an extremely robust piece of engineered plant, designed specifically to cope with Fibre Optic/light cable pulls, which are becoming a main stay in today’s economic environment, especially as Fibre Optic is being laid to cope with the increasing demand for broadband internet.
The cable winch is designed to be simplistic in operation, and thus you will find the winch is also straightforward to maintain and service. The result is a product, which is cost effective, will provide many years of service the AW1000 will be an excellent addition to your plant fleet.

Technical Description
Basic Frame | Manufactured from high quality steel with relevant points welded to enable you to securely hold the trailer down while in operation |
Drive Engine | The AW1000 cable winch is available in both Diesel of Petrol engines, we use a Lombardini water-cooled twin cylinder engine or a Kohler Petrol engine and as the primary role of this winch is, “speed” both engines are more than adequate and perform equally as good on the AW1000. |
Drive System | The main drive comes from a single capstan operation, your choice of rope/fibre optic cable simply needs to be wrapped around the capstan 3 times to ensure that no slippage occurs and that all the tension goes through the capstan rather than travelling onto the storage drum and potentially causing damage to the rope on the drum |
Relief Setting | The winch as standard is fitted with a relief valve system which allows you to manually set the maximum line pull that the cable is allowed to see, if the line pull reaches that tonnage then the hydraulics will stop applying pressure to the motors and the winch will stop pulling, thus protecting the integrity of the cable. |
Winch Capstan: | This general utility cable pulling winch is supplied as standard with two-drive capstan, one at 760mm and one at 380mm. The 760mm option is primarily used when pulling fibre optic cable as it only allows the winch to generate a line pull of 500Kg at a speed of 55mtrs/min, while still allowing the fibre optic cable to bend around the capstan. The 380mm capstan is generally used for other types of pulling, i.e. sub duct, lighter weight cable etc, and this will then allow the winch to generate a line pull of 1000Kg at a speed of 26mtr/min. The capstans are interchangeable by simply extracting bolts to change the capstans. |
Winch Performance | Line Pull Speed 500Kg @ 55mtrs/min on 760mm Dia Capstan 1000Kg @ 26mtrs/min on 380mm Dia Capstan |
