Cold Shrink Joints 24kV

Nexans CSJA-S are single phase compact cold shrink joints – size A cable joints suits from 35sqmm to 300sqmm single core cables up to 24kV with GPH bolted type mechanical connectors meeting HD 629.1 S2 International Standards.

The CSJA-S combines cold shrink and bolted connector technologies (shearbolts) for reliable underground MV joints or connections in a small cable trench (max=1m) or in specific aerial applications.

The Nexans cold shrink cable joints have been designed to connect 24kV single core cables polymeric insulated (XLPE EPR) with cable cross sections from 35sqmm to 300sqmm whether they are aluminium or copper conductor cores on underground MV power cables.

Nexans CSJA-S Cold Shrink Joints 24kV

Installation is complete by the removal of the cold shrink tubes by the Cable Jointer MV HV without the requirement of a heat source (jointers torches), material filling or wrapping. The cable joints can be energized once assembly is finished.

• 1 x CSJA-S cold shrinkable compact joint manufactured by Nexans
• 1 x two layer plate
• 2 x mastic strip
• 2 x water sealing mastic strip
• 2 x self-adhesive copper tape
• 1 x mechanical connector

The cable joint kit also comprises an installation hook, adhesive tape, lubricant, wipers, jointers gloves, white pencil and installation instructions.

Cable Joint Ordering Instructions

For example – the cable is 24kV, 120sqmm stranded aluminium with a diameter over core insulation of 25.3mm. Order a Nexans 24CSJA-S-23.38/52-M95.240-CW45+MT45-5,1kA.

• CW45+MT45: Copper Wire & Metallic tape screens kit
• 5,1kA: internal screen connection short-circuit level (5.1 kA for 1 second)
