The PFISTERER DOC 123kV HV is a self-supporting, oil insulated Dry Outdoor Composite Cable Terminations, part of the ESS family (123-C9), which can be used at operational voltage levels of up to 550kV. The PFISTERER DOC 123kV Dry Outdoor Composite Cable Terminations HV ESS123-C9 are equipped with a system-sealing head fitting and are easy-to-install, reliably connecting to power cable systems with overhead lines and busbars, offering a maintenance-free long-term service life.

The IEC 60840 standards created by the International Electrotechnical Commission is a standard for high voltage power cables and their cable accessories, met with the PFISTERER DOC 123kV Dry Outdoor Composite Cable Terminations HV ESS123-C9. The standard applies to cables with a voltage rating of 30kV – 150kV, covering type test methods and requirements. The high voltage power cables and accessories are subject to regular type test sequences that simulate a 30-year service lifetime, including testing under fire conditions. The IEC 60840 standards require that high voltage power cables must meet rigorous testing protocols, including partial discharge tests, as well as meeting specifications for cable accessories and jointing techniques suitable for high voltage environments.
