Straight 120 Resin Cable Joint

Filoform ST120 Cable Joint up to 1000V | 3.3kV 

Filoform ST120 straight resin cable joints are used for the connection, repair and jointing of 1-core up to 5-core armoured and 2-core up to 5-core unarmoured low voltage power cables (XLPE & PILC) for inline straight and transition applications with a cable diameter (mm) of ∅ 37 – 67 and joint shell dimensions (mm) L547 x ∅108.

The cable joint kits are suitable for XLPE/SWA/PVC, PILC/SWA/PVC and EPR type Low Voltage Cable Joints up to 1kV/3.3kV (1000 Volts) – this includes straight through and transition connections of cables.

The ST120 cable joints are suitable for the connection, repair and extension of rail cable circuits utilising Class II Based Signalling Power Distribution Systems.

Cable Joints Tested & Certified

Filoform cable joints are approved in accordance with the standard DIN EN 50393 VDE 0278-393:2015-10 – test methods and requirements for accessories for use on distribution cables of rated voltage 0,6/1,0 (1,2) kV. This European Standard details the performance requirements and the test methods for type testing of cable joints for use with power distribution cables of rated voltage 0,6/1,0 (1,2) kV as defined in HD 603 or other relevant cable standards.

Video Resin Cable Joints

The below video demonstrates how to install Filoform resin cable joints. For cable joints up to 1000V, joint can be filled under load conditions. The joint should be left for 2 hours before back-filling to allow joint resin curing process to begin. The jointer should remove excess oil, contaminants and moisture from the cable sheath using an approved cable cleaner wipe of non-flammable specification. Please note this Video is intended as an instructional guide and only competent Jointers  should attempt any form of cable spiking, cutting or jointing. Note the Jointer should remove the insulation from the end of each core using suitable cable jointing tools and fit either crimp or shearbolt connectors from approved manufacturers including Cembre or Klauke.
