Prysmian Elasticfit cable terminations are Cold-Applied indoor single core terminations suitable for polymeric cables (PE, XLPE, EPR) up to 36kV with a conductor size ranging from 25sqmm to 1600sqmm – copper or aluminium conductor, non-armoured or armoured (either copper tape or wire type), semi-conducting screen either extruded or taped, metallic screen of tape, wire or polylam type and an insulation voltage of up to 36kV (Um). The Prysmian ELTI-1C MV slip-on cable termination is suitable for applications in cable-end boxes, compact switchgears and in terminal boxes located outdoor and subject to condensation.

Installation Features

• No need for special cable jointing tools, no heating or filling
• Vertical, angled or inverted position of the cable termination
• Energizing may take place immediately after completion of the high voltage termination
• The different voltage levels are achieved by varying the number of sheds integral to the cable termination
• Modular components slipped over the cable using a special cable lubricant

Cable Termination – Technical Diagram

1. Conductor Lug – Copper or aluminium. Crimped, deep indented or bolted type using approved cable crimping tools
2. Insulation Sheds -Slip-on sheds, moulded from non-tacking silicone rubber
3. Stress Relief Tube – Moulded elastic slip-on component. Controls the distribution of the electrical field at the cable screen cutback
4. Earth Cover –  Slip-on component, moulded from non-tracking silicone rubber. Ensures watertight protection of the earthing
5. Earthing Device – Fitted as necessary, depending on cable design (T1-T2-T3) and on cable box or switchgear characteristics
