The Cembre B-TC400ND-SCÂ is a new-generation portable battery powered hydraulic cable cutter developed for rapid cutting of copper, aluminium and telephone cables with a maximum outside diameter of 40mm. It forms part of the Cembre range of professional battery cable cutting tools supplied by Thorne & Derrick for cable installation, jointing and maintenance applications.
Its compact bi-linear tool structure combines an open cutting head with a scissor movement that allows the blades to close around the cable. The cutting blades are manufactured from specially treated high-strength steel, providing a clean, controlled cut and long operating life. The blade system is designed to provide up to 14,000 cutting cycles at full load.
The balanced tool design enables one-handed operation throughout the cutting process. A 180° rotating head allows the operator to position the cutting jaws around cables in pits, switchgear, panels and other locations where working space is restricted.
The hydraulic system incorporates a maximum pressure valve for controlled operation together with a radial bearing transmission. The robust construction is designed for low maintenance, while quiet cordless operation makes the B-TC400ND-SC suitable for repetitive professional cable cutting and quick intervention work.
