Insulating Boots For Switchgear & Transformer Bushing & Termination Connections
Nexans RAB/SB are heatshrinkable bushing boots that are used to increase creepage distance between the live metal and surrounding metal work and neighbouring phases in switchgear and cable termination boxes – heat shrink boots are used typically at 6.6kV/11kV but rated up to 17.5kV.
The cable terminations can be energised immediately after installation and the bushing boots have an unlimited shelf life – the bushing boots are designed to mate and protect all types of indoor Cold Shrink or heat shrink cable terminations.

The Nexans RAB/SB kit comprises 3 heat-shrinkable bushing boots and mastic – where permission to “hot-work” is denied and therefore heat shrink boots cannot be used a range of Cold Shrink boots manufactured by 3M Electrical are available for installation typically in onshore and offshore hazardous area locations with potentially explosive atmospheres.
All bushing boots are supplied as sets of 3 phases – 3 individual boots per set.
