400Amps Cable Connectors for High Voltage Switchgear 

Interface B bushing connectors are screened separable connectors available as elbow or straight type design for the termination of medium/high voltage cables onto electrical equipment including MV-HV switchgear and transformers with bushings type B Interface (14mm pin type) – note these are deadbreak separable connectors, not loadbreak type.

The Prysmian range of Screened Separable Connectors are suitable for the connection and cable termination of Medium & High Voltage Cables with XLPE EPR insulation and either copper wire or copper tape screen cables, typically at 33kV into Gas Insulated Switchgear & Electrical Equipment with Interface B Bushings type.

Selection Guide

1. Select a Prysmian Kit Reference that corresponds to the cable diameter over insulation for the medium/high voltage cable.

Example: 22kV single core aluminium 185sqmm cable with copper wire screen. Diameter over insulation is 28.6mm. Elbow type connector is required.

2. Specify the voltage Um in kV. (12, 24 or 36kV)

3. Select earthing arrangement from the table below.

4. Select suitable range taking lug.

To support and retain the installation of medium/high voltage power cables refer to the range of Prysmian cable cleats suitable for short-circuit protection and retention of cables located onto cable containment.

Prysmian MV cables are Made in Britain – standard MV cables range between 6.6kV, 11kV, 22kV up to 33kV including IEC 60502-2, BS6622 (BS7835) and BS7870 type plus Triplex variants. Medium voltage (MV) cables for commercial, industrial and utility distribution networks with XLPE insulation in single core (Unarmoured & Armoured AWA Aluminium)  and 3-core (Armoured SWA Steel) designs – fire resistant (IEC-60332-3-22 or 24), flame retardant (IEC 60332-1-2), chemical barrier, LSZH Low Smoke Zero Halogen (IEC-60754-1) and hydrocarbon resistant cable sheath specifications are available.
