E1W-XL Cable Glands – Flameproof Ex e/Ex d & Explosion Proof

E1W-XL Cable Glands from the Prysmian 474SW range of hazardous area cable glands suitable for terminating circular aluminium wire armoured cables in Zone 1 and Zone 2 locations – Prysmian E1W-XL cable glands provide high performance in high temperatures and achieves IP67 seal onto cable and to enclosure with suitable sealing washer or thread sealant thanks to superior dual seals.

E1W-XL Cable Glands – Prysmian 474SW

Flameproof Ex e/Ex d Cable Glands & Kits
  • E1W-XL brass indoor and outdoor hazardous area cable gland
  • Suitable for circular armoured cables with extruded cable with extruded polymeric bedding and oversheath
  • Achieves IP67 seal onto cable and to enclosure with suitable sealing washer or thread sealant
  • Weatherproof & waterproof cable gland
  • Cable glands certified to II 2GD, Ex e II & Ex d IIC under ATEX directive 94/9/EC
  • Inner PCP seal grips cable bedding and provides additional ingress protection
  • Continuity Connection for Lead Inner sheathed cables
  • Three part armour lock provides mechanical cable retention and electrical continuity
  • Service temperature range -60°C to +90°C

E1W-XL cable glands are suitable for use in:

  • Zones 0, 1 & 2 with Ex ia IIA, B & C Equipment
  • Zones 1 & 2 with Ex ib IIA, B & C Equipment
  • Zones 1 & 2 with Ex e II Equipment
  • Zone 2 with Ex nA II Equipment
  • Zone 21 & 22 with Ex tD A21

Additionally, where the cable is effectively filled, the E1W-XL cable glands can be used in:

  • Zones 1 & 2 with Ex d IIC Equipment not containing a source of ignition and volume less than 2000cm³
  • Zones 1 & 2 with Ex d IIA & Ex d IIB Equipment not containing a source of ignition/volume
  • Zone 1 with Ex d IIA & Ex d IIB Equipment containing a source of ignition and volume less than 2000cm³
  • Zone 2 with Ex d IIA & Ex d IIB Equipment containing a source of ignition and with any volume
  • Zone 2 with Ex nR II Equipment
