150-185sqmm 1.9/3.3kV Cable Termination

3M LCT3 is part of a series of the 3M LCT Cold Shrink Cable Termination kits suitable for terminating unscreened 3 Core XLPE EPR 1.9kV/3.3kV power cables with SWA (steel wire armour) to BS5467 with cross sectional area of 150-185sqmm – single core terminations for 3.3kV 6941AB cable manufactured to BS5467 can also be kitted.

Offshore Cables

Due to the cold-applied technology of Cold Shrink, the 3M LCT3 cable termination is installed extensively in potentially explosive atmospheres and hazardous area (HAZLOC) locations for the connection of offshore and marine cables to BS6883 specification (Types SW2 SW3 SW4) and fire resistant cable BS7917 (Types FO F1), including IEC60331.

3M LCT3 are used to terminate BS6883 type EPR insulated armoured cables with galvanised steel wire braid (GSWB) and phosphor bronze (TPWB) or tinned ATEX Cable Glands copper wire braid (TCWB).

Complete supporting range of Cold Shrink joints are also available for 3.3kV cables to be jointed in onshore and offshore locations.

3M Cold Shrink LCT Series Terminations use 3M Cold Shrink Technology, eliminating the need for resin, heat and special tools, making a quick, simple and reliable installation.

Typically used to terminate unscreened (not screened) cables up to 3.3kV without copper wire or copper tape screens in installations where heat shrink terminations are precluded due to the presence of flammable gases in hazardous areas and potentially explosive atmospheres according to the Zone 1 and Zone 2 categorisation by the ATEX Directive.

Shelf Life

3M Cold Shrink Tubes, Breakouts and insulation tapes have a 5 year shelf life from date of manufacture when stored at the recommended temperature of 10-27°C at <75% Relative Humidity.
