Cable Pulling Winch
CBS C-1045 Cable Winch
The Cable Pulling and Assist Winch is designed by CBS Products for overhead lines to provide reliable safe vehicle lifting operations for 11kV/33kV work and maintenance requirements. Winching is controlled via a proportional hydraulic valve giving the operator precise control over the load when needed or high speed if necessary.
The winch for cable pulling meets the requirements of installing telecommunication cables, employing an 813mm diameter single capstan to impact a controlled force to the pulling rope or cable.
Thorne & Derrick International distribute the most extensive range of Cable Pulling & Cable Laying Equipment to enable the installation or stringing of low, medium and high voltage power cables and conductors into underground trench, duct or pylon towers.
Cable Pulling Winch Design Features
The single capstan allows the winch to be placed at the mid point of a section to assist in the pull, thus enabling longer cable pulls to be achieved. The C-1045 has a rope take up drum, which is driven independently via a hydraulic motor.
The take up drum has a detachable side, which allows the rope on the drum to be removed in a tidy coil and can be declutched from the drive to allow the rope to be pulled out manually when threading. The winch is powered by a 13hp petrol engine that drives a fixed displacement hydraulic pump which in turn drives the low speed, high torque, hydraulic motor.

Overhead Line Winch
Applications
The CBS C-1045 Winch is particularly useful for overhead line engineers working on power lines and telecommunication cable. Its ability to handle the impact of a controlled force to the pulling rope or cable.
The motor drives the capstan through an epicyclical gearbox. The pulling tension is mounted on a dial read out, allowing the operator to monitor the pull.
The tension of the pull and assist winch is adjustable from 0-500kg.
