450V TO 11kV | 11,000 Volts Matting

SM551 is a high quality fine ribbed rubber insulating matting and switchboard matting which is fully certified and tested to 11kV with a recommended safety working voltage of 450V.

Additionally the switchboard matting has a fine ribbed, anti-slip surface pattern on one side and a cloth impression finish on the reverse side ensuring safe electrical working conditions for users.

SM551 insulating matting is available in stock lengths of 10m x 0.91m, 1m and 1.2m with a thickness of 6mm and on request can be produced in cut length sizes and a variety of colours or with flame retardant, low emission grade materials.

The European standard IEC 61111:2009 that has replaced the national standards of the EU countries sorts the electrical insulating matting as to its resistance to high tension breakdown into 5 Classes of electrical protection;

Insulating rubber switchgear matting in accordance with IEC 61111 or BS EN 61111 can be used to prevent earth contact with the floor, however the switchboard matting will not provide any electrical shock protection if a person touches metal areas of the switchboard or control panel simultaneously with exposed live conductors which are likely to be at earth potential and readily accessible.
