SICON | Stepless Shearbolt Cable Connectors & Lugs – shear-off bolted connectors are safe, reliable and a cost-efficient cable connector installed consistently with reduced tooling and scope for Jointer workmanship error associated with crimping technology. The Sicon product range provides optimal contact force for copper or aluminium, solid or stranded, round or sector-shaped from 600V to 72kV – with a wide range-take for the joint or termination of cross section cables from 6sqmm-1200sqmm and voltage levels including 600V, 3.3kV, 11kV, 25kV, 33kV and 66kV/72kV.

SICON bolted connectors are installed directly onto the ends of the LV MV HV conductor with a standard Allen key – the bolt shears off smoothly when tightened by the Jointer without sharp protrusions preventing damage to the joint, termination or connector.

Connectors with Stepless Shear-Off Bolts

The Pfisterer Sicon range of mechanical shearbolt cable connectors with stepless shear-off bolts provide electrical connections for the jointing and termination of cables up to LV MV HV cables up to 66kV/72kV.

For years now, bolted clamps, connectors and cable lugs have been gaining ground as bolted connectors offer technical and practical advantages that compression technology cannot match.

Sicon bolted connectors from Pfisterer are installed directly onto the conductors with a standard Allen-key aiding simple and smooth installation without resort to crimping tools and associated compression die sets. The innovative design of the stepless shearbolt allows installation regardless of the conductor type. Due to the innovative connector design of the bolt, optimal contact force secures a reliable electrical connection for Low, Medium & High Voltage electrical power cables and systems.

All Sicon connectors can be easily installed, even under tight spots. The bolt shears off smoothly when it is tightened. The remains stay in the tool and can be safely disposed of. The bolt always shears off at the top edge of the connector body. This way, there are no sharp protrusions. All edges of the connector body are rounded.

Every Sicon connector covers a wide cross-section range. This way, you always have the right connectors with on site. And even if during repair work it is unclear type of conductors must be connected and in which condition are they in, Sicon is the right choice. Sicon connectors are electrically/mechanically type-tested in accordance with IEC 61238-1 Class.

Application Range

Split Connector	This split connector can be used in installations where is difficult to install the connector on the conductor. The connector comes apart in 2 pieces and allows easy installation. The 2 pieces are then bolted together in the middle to form one connector again. Typical uses are PILC to PILC 3/C joints and any tight spot where it is difficult to bend the cable.
Branch Connector	The branch connector can be used to join 3 different conductors regardless of size or material. These are typically used when joining two main lines and then running a tap or a branch. These can be used in heat shrink, cold shrink and hand-taped joints.
Cable Lug	Pfisterer SICON bolted cable lugs enable you to connect the cable ends of electrical devices with a bolt or a stud. Standard cable lugs are used in cable terminations for indoor and outdoor applications and can be used in both heat shrink and cold shrink accessories.
Cable Lug	Centered cable lugs are mainly used in separable connectors. Cable lugs with 2-hole palms are also available.
