Lucy Electric is a leader in secondary power distribution solutions with over 100 years’ industry experience. Specialising in high-performance medium voltage switchgear for utility, industrial and commercial applications, we enable the safe and reliable distribution of energy to homes and businesses worldwide.

The photos above are from an out of hours maintenance visit by Joe Nihill. For this particular maintenance the scope of works included a fully intrusive overhaul of a 11kV South Wales switchgear board consisting of South Wales switchgear C4X Oil Circuit Breakers (OCB) electrical insulating oil, replacement of each breakers electromechanical protection relay testing and a transfer of operational control document.
This allowed Joe and his team to control an isolated part of the customers network safely for the duration of the works.

Cable stripping dimensions should be carefully observed by the MV cable jointers and the correct cable jointing tools used to remove sheath, insulation and semi-conductive screens.
Andy O’Malley commented “Nice clean tidy work area – silicone tape applied at the bottom of the cold shrink termination.”
