Thorne & Derrick distribute Nexans Cable Connectors & Terminations for Medium and High Voltage electrical cable systems – this includes cables manufactured to MV Cable Standards: International Standard IEC 60502, BS6622, BS7835 and BS7870 with operating voltages typically 6.6kV, 11kV, 20kV and 33/36kV.

Nexans MONO heat-shrinkable medium voltage terminations feature integrated stress control for reduced shrinking and reduced error scope by the jointer – the cable terminations provide stable performance under severe environmental conditions with exceptional tracking and erosion resistance, mechanical strength, weatherability and dielectric properties.
Nexans terminations suit single and 3 core polymeric insulated (XLPE and EPR) and paper insulated (PILC and PICAS) cables with copper tape or copper wire screens up to 42kV, 1600sqmm.

MONO | Terminations
Nexans MONO is a range of MV terminations featuring an integrated heat shrink stress control field and anti-tracking insulating tube which can withstand humidity, extreme temperatures, UV radiation and heavy polluted environments.
The MONO indoor and outdoor cable terminations are designed for a maximum system voltage of 42kV – easy, quick to install, reducing installation time and errors. Terminations are Type Tested to DIN VDE 0278-629-1 (HD629.1 S2) – this covers test voltages 3.6/6 (7.2kV) up to 20.8/36 (42kV).
11kV Triplex Terminations & BS7880
The MONO Triplex version is used extensively for UK DNO connections and features custom Triplex gland with integral sealing breakout and brass type mechanical lugs for bonding and termination of copper wire screens.

Termination Components | For air insulated cable box applications, the Nexans termination MONO can be combined with Nexans FB Bushing Boots (Universal & Cold Applied) to fit most types of busbar connection or switchgear bushings. Ancillaries include Bolt-on Top-Hat style SWA | AWA Glands, Solderless Earth Kits for Copper Taped Screen Cables, Lugs (Crimp or Shearbolt Mechanical).
