Western Power Distribution WPD

Western Power Distribution deliver electricity to over 7.8 million customers over a 55,500 square kilometre service area – WPD are the UK DNO electricity distribution network operator for the Midlands, South West and Wales.

WPD network consists of 220,000km of LV-HV overhead lines and underground cables with over 185,000 substations operating at low, medium and high voltage. Electricity is conveyed countrywide via the National Grid at 275kV/400kV distribution voltages and transformed to 132kV for regional distribution at electricity substations known as Grid Supply Points.
