Roxtec B Cast Ex Hazardous Area Cable Transit Frames
Roxtec B Cast Ex cable transit frames are a metal frame with a flange – the Roxtec frame parts are assembled to construct different sizes and combinations of openings to accommodate and seal LV-HV cables and pipes. The B Cast Ex cable transit frame is approved for use in hazardous area locations and potentially explosive atmospheres.
Roxtec rectangular cable transit frames are used to provide a reliable cable sealing ensuring safety, efficiency and long-term operational reliability – Roxtec cable seals protect against fire, gas, water, dusts, pests, blast load and electromagnetic interference.

Installing Roxtec B Cast Ex Cable Transit Frames
Contact T&D should you require support on the installation of Roxtec B Cast Ex cable transit frames for sealing cables in hazardous areas:
- For correct casting of frames into concrete structures, casting moulds in cellular plastic are available.
- To allow for a correct installation, the size of the opening in the wall must be 5 mm (0.197″) wider than the inside dimensions of the frame on all sides. The reason is that the stayplates and the wedge need this space to be able to move inside the frame during installation and compression.
- Before concrete is poured, the frame and casting mould are fixed in position with the frame flange inside the structure.
